Leadership Philosophy

My leadership philosophy centers on empowering exceptional people to do their best work. I strategize, plan, and execute with high standards, but my primary role is removing barriers – whether that's cutting through bureaucracy, bridging knowledge gaps, or providing motivational support – so talented team members can focus on what they do best.

I lead with both rigor and compassion. While I maintain exceptional standards and clear vision, I also invest in understanding each team member individually  mentoring them to grow into their most capable selves. Through this balance of high expectations and genuine support, teams thrive and deliver outstanding results.

My Story

In work, as in life, I have not settled for a conventional path. An entrepreneurial spirit runs in the family, and even during conventional jobs, I've always maintained a business license to pursue opportunities and ideas. This winding road is where my professional story begins.

While working at Trader Joe's, I was seeking career direction and discovered 16Personalities.com, an online personality testing site. I bought their materials and noticed that the content was clearly written by someone brilliant, but also clearly written by a non-native English speaker.

I wrote a cold email: "I'm correcting these in my head anyway – I can send you a corrected copy for free if you like." They accepted, and I began working evenings proofreading their e-books. This volunteer work evolved into paid editing, then rewriting their core personality type descriptions – content that still drives their organic traffic today.

As the company grew and hired more writers, I volunteered to lead those writers and spent the next eight years developing as a leader. I took courses, traveled to meet distant coworkers, and transformed my role repeatedly to meet organizational needs. This journey shaped my leadership philosophy and core values: "I share curiosity, kindness, and intention."

Finally, I became Director of Strategy, Research, and Business Operations, collaborating directly with the CEO on research methods, content strategies, and product development that helped scale the platform to over 1.4 billion tests taken.

In 2025, after 11 years of growth together, the company streamlined operations and I transitioned to new opportunities. It was an emotional but natural evolution after building something with tremendous global impact.

Now I'm excited to bring this blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and transformative leadership to help another organization scale their content operations, develop data-driven strategies, and build teams that consistently deliver exceptional results.
